Company History Since the founding of the company in Oct 1999, DigiLogistics had expanded quickly as the market leader in the e-logistics arena in Greater China. During the formation of the company, our shareholder Vanda System Group (Formerly listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and now becomes the subsidiary of Hutchison Telecommunication Int'l Ltd) had invested over HK$40 million dollars into DigiLogistics for technical and marketing development of our product and services in the Greater China region. Our another shareholder, Descartes Systems Group also invested over HK$20 million worth of logistics software into DigiLogistics and upgrade the skill level of DigiLogistics to compete with other world class logistics applications providers.

DigiLogistics's ASP platform "D-LOG" was initially launched in July 2000 as the pioneer of web-based e-logistics platform in Asia. The platform targeted to serve logistics service providers, other B2B commerce trading vertical portals, large and SMEs manufacturers, shippers and logistics service users who have significant global transportation, storage or delivery requirement. Digilogistics is the first full solution provider in the e-global logistics sector in Hong Kong and had received encouraging responses to its services. In its initial live period of the first 12 months, the freightage transaction conducted over the platform had reached the amount of USD10 million with over 10,000 shipments transacted. This is an exceptional performance in compare to all those other dot.com bubbles and e-business start ups that burst and failed later.

Further to our initial success, DigiLogistics continues to invest and develop the next generation e-logistics platform D-LOG II in 2002. D-LOG II had added the multi-modal capability to include not only ocean, but also other transportation modes like air, feeder, trucking and warehouse operation.

For D-LOG III, an upgraded version lunched in 2003, Advance Shipment Notice (ASN), Shipment Track & Trace and Purchase Order Management functions are added to keep DigiLogistics as the market leader in e-logistics arena.

Since the live run of D-LOG, DigiLogistics had expanded its market into China by forming a joint venture company with the China Shipping Gazette to build an e-logistics platform call the China Shipping and Trading Network (www.snet.com.cn). In year 2001, DigiLogistics also provided e-logistics platform service to CIECC's (China Government's e-commerce arm) e-portal "China Commodities Fair Portal" (www.cecf.com.cn) and won a contract to build a e-logistics platform for Cargo 888 in Shanghai that worth over RMB10 million.

By end of year 2001, DigiLogistics had provided e-logistics platform service to over many major portals in Asia like the e-pulppapper.com. e-hotel.com, 1stoptoys.com and one of the biggest corporations in Korea call Hansol Corp. DigiLogistics was also invited to make a presentation in the PAA (Pan Asia Alliance) which is formed by major government in Asia like China, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and Singapore to promote e-commerce initiatives in Asia.

DigiLogistics also entered into a strategic alliance with TradeLink in 2001 to cooperate and develop e-logistics application that could serve the shippers in Hong Kong and China better.

In year 2002, DigiLogistics continues to develop more e-logistics applications like the ERP systems for logistics companies, operation systems for trucking companies, liner operating systems and provide in-house project development, consultation and training services to various logistics companies in the market. During this year, DigiLogistics also provide e-logistics platform services to the major bank Standard Chartered Bank to enable its customers to better manage their supply chain.

In year 2003, DigiLogistics was the pioneer in Asia to promote the AMS (Automated Manifest System) for compliance with the 24 hours rule in United States. DigiLogistics, with its extensive market presence and industrial know-how, had become one of the largest AMS service providers in Asia with over 50 customers and over 10,000 transactions per months. Besides being the AMS service provider, DigiLogistics also integrated the AMS function with its D-LOG III to provide a seamless information flow in trade cycle from purchase order to shipping order, from bill of lading to trade declaration, and reduce human intervention that lower the operation efficiency. During this year, DigiLogistics also being awarded 2 major projects from the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association. The former one is to build an e-logistics engine that utilizes AI (Artificial Intelligence) to increase the space optimization for air forwarding industry. The latter one is to build an e-logistics platform that could assist the 2,000 freight forwarders in Hong Kong to exchange shipping documentation with their partners and provide shipment visibility to their customers worldwide.

In year 2004, DigiLogistics further developed other logistics applications like warehouse management systems, Import/Export trade declaration systems and Canadian ACI applications to serve our customers better. Besides products, DigiLogistics also won a major 3 years outsourcing contract from the biggest mini-truck company in Hong Kong. Furthermore, we have won a contract from one of the top 3 global logistics service providers to develop AI (Artificial Intelligence) software that could provide profit optimization and cost savings to its operation.

In year 2004, DigiLogistics also form a strategic partnership with GT Nexus, one of the major shipping portals in the world. DigiLogistics will integrate the D-LOG III's booking module and shipment track & trace modules with GT-Nexus to enable our customers to book shipments and track the shipment status with 13 major ocean carriers in the world.

With the combined industrial knowledge, global logistics exposure and local understanding, DigiLogistics have conducted a feasibility study for the major e-portal e3356.com in Nanhai to study the potential for developing an e-logistics platform in Foshan.

Throughout the past years, DigiLogistics has been heavily involved in the planning and execution of logistics initiatives in Hong Kong. In year 2001, our CEO, Mr. William Chan, had been invited to join the Committee on Logistics Service Development to advise the Hong Kong Government on the e-logistics development, with the particular focus on the direction to build an e-logistics platform (later know as DTTN) in Hong Kong. Thereafter, DigiLogistics was invited to join the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council, E-project Group, steering committee and DTTN Standard Groups to provide consultancy for the building of DTTN

Looking forward, we would continue to serve the logistics industry through the introduction of the latest product and technology. In year 2004 and 2005, we have introduced many new products that could serve our customers better, like the Purchase Order Management System, Canadian ACI system and supply chain management systems. In addition, we would continue to invest and upgrade our existing products like the D-LOG and Freight Management System which could meet the changing requirement and market dynamics that our customers are facing.     [Back to top]
